Doomwatch

Doomwatch

1970 to 1972

This was a show about an organization that was set up to fight the dangers of unbridled and uncontrolled scientific research. They fought things such as mutated bacteria, mutant rats, plagues, and more. Doomwatch was the nickname for the Department of Measurement of Scientific Work. The series' tapes were wiped in the 1970s (along with many other BBC programs) and was considered lost for a while, but many of the episodes were found in Canada and returned to the BBC. It spawned a movie (1972) and a revival series many years later (1999). It is available only in a UK format (non-US).
